IP Cameras

IP cameras are digital cameras that can send and receive information via internet. These can be used in private residences, offices or even big business organizations. There are two types of IP cameras: Centralized or decentralized. Centralized IP systems require a network video recorder whereas the decentralized system does not require it. It is because, the cameras have built-in capability of recording directly onto digital storage media. Everything that is recorded by IP camera can be accessed from anywhere using internet. The advantages of using IP cameras are that there is no limit to the number of cameras that can be installed. The high resolution of IP cameras provide clearer images.
IP Cameras have a wide range of advantages over analog cameras. Some of them are as under:

Picture quality

When it comes to resolution even the worst IP Camera will be better than the best analog camera. IP captures a wider field of view compared to analog. Thus, we can say that one IP camera is equivalent to 3 or 4 traditional analog cameras.

Scalability

IP cameras can be added to installation using existing analog cameras. This means that a shift from traditional analog cameras to IP cameras can be made easily.

Speed and reliability

IP cameras are faster, more reliable and durable compared to analog systems.

Manageability

The advantage that IP cameras have is their connectivity to the internet. These video files can be accessed from anywhere at any time thus adding to its list of advantages.
Types of IP cameras:

Panaromic cameras

It has a wide angle lens and a 5 megapixel sensor. They are fixed domes that offer multiple viewing models like 360 degree overview, 180 degree panaroma and digital tilt and zoom functionality.

Fixed cameras

A fixed network camera has a fixed viewing direction once it is mounted.

Thermal cameras

Thermal cameras create images based on the heat that always radiates from any object, vehicle or person. It is less sensitive to such as shadows, backlight, and darkness.

HD Cameras

When every minute detail matters HD Cameras are used. These cameras provide very high resolution images and every little detail is taken care of.
